Our Story
Our story has many layers but they are all supported by our love for Christ and our desire to serve Him with our lives. Our heritage is Anglican, which is to say that we are part of a family of followers of Christ millions strong who worship all around the globe...some meet in house churches, in cathedrals, underground and behind picket fences.
New Hope began a few years back when a core group knew that there was something more, and decided to seek the face of God for His will for them. After much prayer, they launched out in faith into a new era of Anglicanism in the world, one marked by commitment to Christ, to the authority of Scripture, and a desire to seek and serve all for the glory of God.
We are lead by Father Bryan Bywater and blessed by his family. His wife Lisa and thier daughters Olivia (3) and Hannah (1) keep him busy and incheck! Fr. Bryan is a 2005 graduate from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA. He has served as an Area Director for Young Life in Greater Hartford, youth pastor for three churches and before comming New Hope was the Assistant at Saint Paul's Anglican Church in Brookfield, CT.
He passion for the broken and lost led him to Tanzania in 2005 where he was powerfully filled by the Holy Spirit and was given a heart for Africa. Due to his convitions on the centrality of Jesus the authority of Scripture, Fr.Bryan was deposed from the Episcopal Church and was blessed to be ordaind in the Anglican Church of Tabora, Tanzania. Willing he, his wife and then one year old Olivia embarked on an adventure of a lifetime...serving Jesus and His people in a radical way.
